Deck Covers

In Colorado, without a custom deck cover, the sun can cause outdoor living spaces to become uncomfortably hot.  Many of our customer choose to add deck covers over all or a portion of their deck.  This allows them to enjoy the outdoors, even on the hottest days of the year.  DBS can extend your roofline so that the new cover appears to be an original part of the house.

As you can see from the pictures below, a deck cover can also become a significant design element.  By adding some of the following features, customers have created their own unique and inviting outdoor living spaces.

• Adding ceiling lights, recessed or dropped, will not only provide lighting for evening get-togethers, but also add a lot of personality to your space.

• Tongue and groove ceilings add a very distinctive look to your new cover.

• Ceiling fans not only provide lighting in most cases, but on those warm summer days, they help move the air and make it a very comfortable area to enjoy the weather.

• Drop-down shades will help block the sun, and they also provide privacy.

Gabled Deck Covers

Gable 1 – This free-standing patio cover was built with a gabled roof and vaulted ceiling in tongue and groove pine.  We also installed electric outlets on the cedar half-wall, and recessed lighting and a ceiling fan.

Gable 2 – Our clients called us to build a 14′ x 22′ gabled deck cover over their existing composite deck.  The finished cover features a twelve panel vaulted ceiling creating a unique and classic look.

Gable 3 – This gorgeous gable deck cover was built using WoodTone Canadian Ice Lager for the vaulted tongue and groove ceiling.  The support posts are 10″ x 10″ sawsized Douglas Fir stained in Moonlight Mahogany.

Gable 4 – This gorgeous composite deck is covered by a gabled deck cover with a flat ceiling in tongue and groove.  We also installed glass panes on the north side of the deck to help reduce the wind.

Gable 5 – This custom designed deck with gabled deck cover includes many custom features.  The cover is done in tongue and groove pine with recessed lighting and an antler chandelier.  We also added a custom stucco, wood-burning fireplace and stucco walls.

Gable 6 – This custom designed deck features a gabled deck cover with vaulted ceiling in tongue and groove Blue Pine with a transparent stain.

Gable 7 – This gabled deck cover features a vaulted, tongue and groove pine ceiling and recessed lighting.  The homeowner also had two drop-down shades installed for sun protection and privacy.

Gable 8 – DBS built this gabled deck cover with a tongue and groove flat ceiling that has recessed lighting.  Per the owners’ request, we also added the architectural design element on the front of the gable.

Gable 9 – This gorgeous steel-framed deck includes a gabled deck cover with stucco columns and front.  The ceiling is vaulted with tongue and groove pine and features a ceiling fan.

Gable 10 – A composite deck with gabled deck cover and flat ceiling creates a beautiful, intimate outdoor living space for the homeowners.

Gable 11 – We worked with the homeowners to design this custom gabled deck cover with a stucco, vaulted ceiling featuring recessed lighting.  We also installed a large glass wind-break at the end of the deck for the owners.

Gable 12 – The homeowners had us build this hardwood deck with a gabled deck cover.  We installed a tongue and groove pine ceiling with recessed lights.  The tile roof matches the house so it looks original to the home.

Gable 13 – This gabled deck cover has a tongue and groove vaulted ceiling in WoodTone Canadian Ice Lager.  The soffit, trim, and gutters are all painted in custom colors to match the house.

Gable 14 – We built this gabled deck cover with a vaulted, tongue and groove pine ceiling and added a ceiling fan and recessed lights.  The deck also features a custom built, stone, wood-burning fireplace.

Gable 15 – For these homeowners, we built a gabled deck cover with vaulted tongue and groove ceiling in WoodTone Irish Stout. We also built a Cedar pergola stained with a custom match to Sherwin Williams Divine white solid-body stain,

Gable 16 – This gabled deck cover has a vaulted ceiling built with Blue Stain tongue and groove pine.  We also installed recessed lights, a ceiling fan, and two Bromic Tungsten overhead heaters so the owners can use it on colder nights and days.

Gable 17 – This composite deck features a gabled deck cover with vaulted ceiling.  The ceiling material is from WoodTone and the color is Canadian Ice Lager.

Shed Roof Deck Covers

Shed 1 – Our clients asked us to build a redwood deck on the front of their house with a shed roof style deck cover.  The ceiling of the deck cover is done in tongue and groove pine.

Shed 2 – The closed ceiling (from picture Shed 1) was built using tongue and groove pine.  We also installed a single divider board to avoid unsightly butt seams.

Shed 3 – We built this beautiful composite deck using Deckorators Vista Silverwood and Driftwood. The owners wanted a section with shade, so we added an 11’x 16′ shed roof deck cover with tongue and groove closed ceiling.  The ceiling is painted in a custom match white and features recessed lighting.

Shed 4 – We replaced this original, builder-grade redwood deck with a composite deck and shed roof-style cover.

Shed 5 – This gorgeous new deck was built with a shed roof-style deck cover.  The flat ceiling was completed using WoodTone’s Canadian Ice Lager tongue and groove.  We also installed recessed lights, a ceiling fan, and a Bromic Tungsten overhead patio heater.

Shed 6 – When building their new home, these customers decided they wanted to add a shed roof style cover over their large concrete patio.  We built this 14′ x 35′ cover featuring a tongue and groove in WoodTone Texas Honey Brown.

Shed 8 – The owners had us build them a shed roof deck cover with open roof that covers half of their Redwood deck.

Shed 9 – This custom-designed deck features a closed-ceiling, shed roof deck cover with a tile roof, glass wind break, and a double-sided, gas fireplace.

Shed 10 – We built this Heart Redwood deck with a shed roof deck cover.  The cover features an open ceiling and was designed to look original to the house

Shed 11 – An open-ceiling, shed roof deck cover that is built over an elevated deck.

Shed 12 – This is the inside view of the peaked shed roof deck cover.  It was built with a closed ceiling in tongue and groove knotty Pine.
