From Small Redwood Deck to Spacious Outdoor Entertaining Area
Our clients loved spending time outdoors, but their small redwood deck wasn’t large enough to comfortably host family and friends. To create the spacious outdoor entertaining area they envisioned, we designed and built a much larger 10′ x 26′ custom composite deck that blends beauty, durability, and functionality.
Composite Decking Materials for Lasting Beauty
After exploring multiple decking options, the owners selected Fiberon GoodLife Bungalow composite decking as the primary surface. To elevate the design, we added a three-sided double board picture frame border and divider boards in Fiberon Sanctuary Espresso. The rich contrast creates a complementary tonal look that enhances the deck’s overall style while providing a low-maintenance surface that resists fading, staining, and weathering.
Strong, Stylish Fortress Railing System
Safety and design were equally important in this project. So, we installed a Fortress Fe26 Traditional powder-coated steel railing system in a matte black, featuring 3″ x 3″ metal posts with pressed dome post caps. This railing not only provides security, but also adds a sleek, timeless accent to the deck’s design.
Functional Deck Stairs with Landing
The deck includes a thoughtfully designed staircase with a 4′ x 5′, 90-degree turn landing which creates a smaller footprint. The step treads and risers are done in Fiberon Sanctuary Espresso to match the border details, tying the entire outdoor living space together with a polished finish.
More Space, More Possibilities
With their new composite deck, the homeowners now enjoy a significantly larger and more versatile outdoor living space. The new design provides:
- Ample room for entertaining guests
- A low-maintenance surfaces that saves time on upkeep
- Seamless flow to the lower patio, expanding the functionality of their backyard
Our clients are thrilled with their new deck and excited to host gatherings with friends and family in a space designed for comfort and lasting enjoyment.
