When these homeowners reached out to us, they had a vision of transforming their backyard into a functional and stylish outdoor living space. Working together, we designed a 384 SF composite deck topped with a custom cedar pergola, creating the perfect balance of durability, beauty, and comfort.
For the deck surface, the homeowners selected Deckorators Vista Dunewood, paired with Ironwood divider and end boards to add contrast and a polished finish. We completed the look with Miratec fascia, stained to match the home’s trim for a seamless, cohesive appearance.
To ensure safety and style, the deck features a Fortress Fe26 Traditional railing system with powder-coated panels and 3-inch posts. For evening enjoyment, we added flat pyramid post caps with lights, enhancing both ambiance and security after dark.
Above the deck, we constructed a cedar pergola using 6″ x 6″ support posts; 2″ x 10″ framing, and decorative rafter ends. The structure was finished with a solid-body stain that matches house trim, tying the pergola beautifully into the overall design of the home.
To further enhance the outdoor experience, the homeowners opted to add a drop-down sunshade at one end of the deck. This feature provides shade, privacy, and comfort – perfect for entertaining guests or relaxing with family in this gorgeous backyard oasis.
