Custom Deck Cover, 3-Season Glass Room, and Two Pergolas

Monument Outdoor Living Upgrade: Hot Tub Deck Cover, Glass Walls, and Pergolas

These Monument homeowners wanted to upgrade their large decks to better enjoy their hot tub and breathtaking mountain views.  After exploring multiple layout ideas, we created a plan that blended a covered hot tub retreat with glass walls and two custom pergolas – maximizing comfort, usability, and style in every season.

A Covered Hot Tub Retreat with Glass Walls and Sliding Doors

To turn the hot tub area into a true year-round destination, we built a 12′ x 12′ shed roof style deck cover directly over the spa.  The ceiling is finished with tongue-and-groove pine in WoodTone’s English Porter, adding warmth, contrast, and a refined look that complements both the home and the surrounding landscape.

Colorado weather can change fast – especially in Monument – so we enclosed the covered structure with glass walls and sliding doors to create a private hot tub retreat that stays comfortable.  The glass enclosure helps block wind and blowing snow while still keeping the space bright and connected to the views, making it easier to enjoy the hot tub even when the temperatures drop.

Two Douglas Fir Pergolas to Create Multiple Outdoor Zones

To expand the usable space beyond the hot tub area, we built two 12′ x 20′ Douglas Fir pergolas:

  • Pergola #1: Adds shade over the seating next to the new covered retreat – perfect for lounging and conversation.
  • Pergola #2: Provides overhead shade for the outdoor bar area – ideal for entertaining and serving guests comfortably.

Together, the pergolas create distinct areas for relaxing, gathering, and taking in the amazing views – without closing off the open-air experience.

The Result: Shade, Shelter, and Mountain Views in Every Season

With the deck cover, glass enclosure, and pergolas working together, our clients now have a layered outdoor living setup that supports everything from quiet evenings in the hot tub to hosting friends at the outdoor bar.  The finished project delivers more comfort, more functionality, and more time outdoors – year-round.
